Medical Alley Association Bolsters Leadership with Five New Board Members

August 25

Five senior leaders of Medical Alley companies have joined the Medical Alley Association’s board of directors to help guide the organization and community through the coming changes facing the healthcare industry. The new board members will deepen the organization’s roots in the payer and health technology segments of healthcare while providing the organization with their expertise from careers spent leading companies that challenge the status quo in healthcare in a variety of ways.

The new board members are:

Tom Lindquist; CEO; Allina Health | Aetna

Darren Moquist; Chief Executive Officer, Central Region UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual; UnitedHealthcare

Asheesh Saksena; President; Best Buy Health

Craig Samitt; President and CEO; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota

Mike Spicer; President, Medical Business; Cantel Medical

“Medical Alley leaders continue to set the standards for healthcare innovation and continue to choose this table for collaboration, insights and opportunities to drive change,” said Shaye Mandle, CEO of Medical Alley Association. “We are so excited to welcome this collection of new Board members to benefit from their commitment to healthcare transformation and leadership of this community, the global epicenter of health innovation and care.”

The new board members join at a critical time as the Healthcare Transformation Initiative at Medical Alley begins to take shape. Announced by board chair Sheri Dodd, vice president and general manager of Medtronic’s care management services and non-intensive diabetes therapies business, the HTI is a chance for Medical Alley to once again demonstrate its leadership in health innovation and care, moving beyond the theory of value-based care and actually grappling with the serious issues that make its implementation difficult.

Changing healthcare requires a tremendous amount of collaborative effort, which is why we are grateful to all of our board members for their support, and thankful to these five for stepping up to add their contribution to this cause.
