Medical Alley Association Receives Presidential Award for Export Service

Medical Alley, MN — U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo awarded the Medical Alley Association (MAA) the 2021 President’s “E” Award for Export Service at a ceremony today in Washington, D.C. This award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

“The Medical Alley Association has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion,” said Secretary Raimondo in her congratulatory letter announcing MAA’s selection as an award recipient. “The organization’s support of its members resulting in measurable export growth was particularly notable and the Medical Alley Association’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and creates American jobs.”

This award recognizes the work that the Medical Alley Association has done to build connections with companies in Australia, Denmark, Canada, Germany, the U.K., and Ireland, offering programs, referrals, and expertise to those looking to enter the U.S. market or work with U.S. businesses.

In total, the Department honored 71 U.S. companies and organizations from across the country for their role in strengthening the U.S. economy by sharing American ingenuity outside of our borders.

In 1961, President Kennedy signed an executive order reviving the World War II “E” symbol of excellence to honor and provide recognition to America’s exporters.
