Press Release: Diversified Plastics, Inc. Selected as ACG BOLD Awards Finalist

February 18

MINNEAPOLIS—Diversified Plastics, Inc. (DPI), a custom plastic-injection molder and digital manufacturer of high-precision thermoplastic components, has been selected as a finalist by the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth’s (ACG) eighth annual BOLD Awards. BOLD Awards honor and recognize exceptional organizations, corporate leaders and teams driving successful mergers and acquisitions, financing and strategies leading to sustainability, remarkable performance and/or accelerated growth. Finalists will be showcased and winners announced February 25th at the BOLD Awards gala, beginning at 6:00 pm at the Metropolitan Club and Ballroom in Minneapolis.

“This has been an exceptional year for DPI, and we are honored to be selected among the amazing BOLD Awards finalists,” said CEO Kevin Hogan. “As an employee-owned company, I can say this was truly a team effort. We are committed to our role as an industry leader, employee-first company and steward of our community,” he said. Citing responsibility to sustain the industry, Hogan added that DPI team members have recently taken process and material innovations to local colleges, introducing students to cutting-edge technologies.

Nominees and finalists are selected for exhibiting innovative approaches and BOLD ways to address market challenges. DPI was selected as one of three finalists in the Small and Growing category for myriad achievements in business and manufacturing. Industry contributions this year that differentiate DPI from thousands of competitors include development of its Acceleration Station™, which utilizes Carbon® Digital Light Synthesis™ (DLS™). Carbon DLS digital additive manufacturing results in accelerated parts production—without tooling. It is up to 100 times faster than traditional additive methods. Carbon DLS produces consistent isotropic mechanical properties, creating parts durable for end-use applications. The result is a rapid go-to-market strategy, enabling customer success while maintaining precision specification, performance and safety standards. DPI was the first plastic injection molder in the region offering Carbon additive manufacturing technology. Innovations in the manufacturing process from DPI have contributed to new treatments for breast cancer, heart disease and skeletal injury.

Additionally, DPI completed the strategic acquisition of Pacific Plastics Injection Molding (PPIM) of Vista, Calif.

This acquisition of PPIM has already proven to be a success for DPI by harmonizing existing processes that increase value and service for customers. Nominees from more than 100 organizations will be recognized at the BOLD Awards event. The 2020 finalists in each category are as follows:

  • Not for Profit: PCs for People, Playworks, The Loft Literary Center
  • Early-Stage: Aguardion, Excelsior Energy Capital, HabitAware
  • Small and Growing: Ascent Solutions, Diversified Plastics, Inc., GO Growth Operators
  • Middle Market: Northbridge, PURIS, SeaChange Print Innovations
