Orange, CA (June 18, 2020) — GrandPad announced today that the company’s co-founder and CEO Scott Lien, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels Orange County (OC), California. Lien brings a strong history and track record of technology innovation, business success, and a focus on improving the quality of life for older adults by using technology to reconnect them with family, friends, and caregivers.

This appointment comes at a time when many seniors, their friends, and family members have been separated by COVID-19 restrictions. Older adults who live independently may no longer be able to travel to the grocery store in fear of health risks, which not only impacts their ability to maintain proper nutrition, but the resulting isolation and loneliness can have drastic negative effects on their health and well-being.

Prior to founding GrandPad with his son Isaac in 2014, Lien developed user-friendly software for companies like Target, Best Buy, and Bank of America, and he led the mobile technology innovation group at Intuit. Lien previously served as board chair for Los Angeles Power My Learning, an organization dedicated to helping children in low-income schools leverage technology. GrandPad was recognized as a Family Business of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal in 2019.
