A long-rumored alliance came to life Monday as gener8tor launched their health technology-focused accelerator, gBETA Medtech, in partnership with Boston Scientific. The accelerator will take three cohorts of health technology companies per year through a seven-week program that allows them to refine their idea and business practices, meet with potential funders and customers, and prepare to bring their product or service to market.
Working closely with Boston Scientific and gener8tor will be Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. In addition to being world-class healthcare and research organizations, both Mayo and the U of M have a long track record of shepherding innovations from idea to commercialization, which makes them ideal mentors for the gBETA companies.
All six of the initial cohort companies are based in Minnesota, ranging from 2016 Minnesota Cup youth division winner ExpressionMed to Soundly, which presented to investors at MedCity INVEST Twin Cities 2017. The full list of companies headed through the inaugural program are: ExpressionMed, Kobara Medical, NeuroVASx, Quench Medical, Soundly, and Vitrose Health.
For more information on the program or on the participating companies, check out gBETA MEDTECH or American Inno’s announcement of the launch.
