MINNEAPOLIS, MN — November 21, 2019 — The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named Anatomi Corp. as the recipient of the 2019 Tekne Award in the Startup category. The company was honored at the 20th annual Tekne Awards Gala last night at the Minneapolis Convention Center, along with other Minnesota companies, individuals and technologies that positively impact the lives and futures of people around the world.
MHTA recognized Anatomi as an early-stage company with commercialized products that demonstrate significant potential, creativity and a promising future. The biotechnology company is accelerating advances in neuroscience through its proprietary technology that enables production of human neurons from stem cells faster and more efficiently. The company is currently marketing stem cell culture media to create human sensory neurons for pharmaceutical research in chronic pain relief.

The 2019 Tekne Awards were presented to 12 of Minnesota’s most influential companies, and recognized innovations in cloud computing, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, MedTech and workforce development and more.
Anatomi Corp. is based on technology that Mr. Walsh and co-founder
Vincent Truong developed at the University of Minnesota. The company was launched in May 2019 by U of
M Technology Commercialization’s Venture Center and was among the first
startups to complete its Discovery Launchpad incubator program. Anatomi recently received additional support
for the technology’s commercialization from a Regenerative Medicine Minnesota
Biobusiness Development grant.
