New Direction, New Leadership, New Decade for Technical Consultancy

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 12, 2022) – Clockwork technology consultancy is proudly celebrating 20 years this September, with new leadership, a new direction, and a renewed dedication to the clients they serve.

“There’s a human purpose behind all technology,” explains Nancy Lyons, CEO. “As it evolves and changes, Clockwork’s formula has stayed the same: making great things that work online because the foundation is discovering what people need to get things done.”

Lyons co-founded Clockwork in 2002, in a new digital age that most clients had only begun to explore. 20 years of research, execution, and experimentation has transition ed Clockwork from its four founders to a thriving 50-person consultancy, empowering clients to reach their customers more effectively.

Clockwork is a leading provider of human-centered technical solutions for large, complex organizations – and specializes in ensuring that the people, process, and technology are in place to ensure growth and success. Clockwork has worked across dozens of industries with a focus on healthcare, insurance, finance, manufacturing, education, retail, nonprofit, and government.

Lyons has also cultivated a work from anywhere practice that long precedes the pandemic. A flexible, remote, and hybrid work style has been the norm at Clockwork from the start, enabling Clockwork to attract and retain the best talent from across the country. The company has always had a very flexible paid time off policy and commitment to inclusion, as demonstrated by its founding of the MN Technology Diversity Pledge.

“Our not-so-secret formula is this: Clockwork relies on great people, big ideas, exceptional skills, and a deep trust and respect in each other. We show up to do the work and stay honest with ourselves and our clients. We take care of our people and the relationships we build,” Lyons says.

New Division and New Leaders

Lyons and her team have spent the last several years focusing on the direction and growth of the consultancy, to include adding a new division of the business, and recruiting senior level practitioners.

Introducing Tempo powered by Clockwork

Clockwork is introducing a new business venture, Tempo powered by Clockwork. Tempo will operate separately, leveraging no code/low code technology to quickly create affordable, high-quality digital solutions for small and mid-sized organizations. Tempo is slated to launch by the end of 2022.

Leadership Changes

To ensure a smooth transition into the next chapter as well as continued exceptional client service, the following leadership changes are now in place.

Vincent Cabansag, Chief Operating Officer

Cabansag was promoted to Chief Operating Officer from his previous role as Vice President of Technology and Delivery. Cabansag brings 14 years of experience in software development, growing small businesses, and accelerating new ventures into his new role, including the ground-breaking code school, The Starter League, and healthcare incubator, MATTER. As COO, Cabansag is responsible for managing internal operations, delivery services, information technology, and operations engineering. He leads Clockwork’s delivery teams which include strategists, designers, and engineers ensuring that services and solutions are delivered like clockwork.

Jenny Holman, President

Holman brings a background in leading Client Success and years of digital strategy to her new role as President. Holman started her career as a consultant at Accenture and moved into IT consulting in the legal field before joining Clockwork in 2010. As President, Holman is responsible for the well-being of Clockwork and nurturing a culture in which Clockworkers can thrive. In partnership with the CEO, Holman creates, communicates, and implements Clockwork’s vision, mission and overall direction and evaluates Clockwork’s success at reaching its goals.

Melanie Shirley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

After spending 19 years as a Clockwork client at founder-led and private equity owned organizations that include Learners Edge, eyebobs and Menttium, Shirley joined the Clockwork team to head up sales and marketing. Her duties include leading sales, business development, marketing, and communications. She also works with delivery teams to provide input and support on marketing, sales, and digital strategy for clients.

Clockwork Directors

Clockwork recently promoted several leaders into Director level roles, which include: Chelsey Mona as Director of Experience Design, Jay Haase as Director of Software Engineering, Courtney Miner as Director of Client Success, and Kasey Ross as Director of Change Enablement.

“Change Enablement has emerged as a critical part of Clockwork’s strategy and commitment to its clients,” Lyons explains. “Large technology investments can fail if the people affected by the new technology aren’t engaged, educated, or informed.”
