Funds will support Courage Kenny’s mission to inspire people to maximize their health and abilities to achieve lives of purpose and potential by providing a full continuum of rehabilitative services.
Coloplast announced today that between now and December 2024, it is awarding $100,000 in grants to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (Courage Kenny) as part of its Community Engagement Partnership program. The goal is to help bring about positive change in the lives of individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
“Allina Health and Courage Kenny are grateful to have Coloplast as a partner in Making Lives Work,” said Brian LeLoup, Director Post-Acute Rehabilitation and Community Services. “The support from Coloplast allows us to continue to take a holistic approach to the rehabilitation process that includes fitness, wellness, and play. We are excited to partner with an organization that shares our vison of helping those with a chronic condition through the rehabilitation journey.”
Through this program, $100,000 will go toward a strategic partnership that will help fund support of Courage Kenny’s Adaptive Sports & Recreation programming that supports individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions of all ages, in addition to the Activity Based Locomotor Exercise (ABLE) program. Courage Kenny serves as one of the most comprehensive resources for people to participate in adaptive sports and recreation activities. Coloplast will provide volunteers for various programming of these resources and events.
“At Coloplast, our mission is to make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs. We also believe in doing what we can to make our corner of the world better,” said Manu Varma, Senior Vice President, Chronic Care North America at Coloplast. “Both these values are reflected in our support for Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, an organization that has done stellar work in Minnesota’s Twin Cities to help people with disabilities and chronic conditions.”
Last year, Coloplast selected The Boys & Girls Club of the Twin Cities as its Community Engagement partner, awarding the organization $50,000, which helped fund its Academic Success programming at the Jerry Gamble Club, located in North Minneapolis. In addition, Coloplast employees volunteered at the Club in a number of various activities. This strategic community partnership ran through December 2022.
