MEDICAL ALLEY, Minn. – Roberta “Bobbie” Dressen, President & CEO of Medical Alley Association – released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Food and Drug Amendments of 2022, reauthorizing FDA user fee agreements:
“I want to commend House lawmakers for passing this legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support. This bill will provide the necessary resources to enable the FDA to continue its mission of quality and safety while ensuring critical innovation moves forward.
“Medical Alley Association will continue to work with congressional leaders to support legislation which provides patients access to safe, effective and state of the art care.”
The big picture: The House passed the Food and Drug Amendments of 2022 (H.R. 7667) Wednesday by a vote of 392-28. User fee agreements must be reauthorized every five years.
What’s next: The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee is scheduled to mark-up its user fee authorization package (S. 4348) next week. The current agreement expires in September.
