This document details candidates’ responses to the Medical Alley Association’s 2020 State Legislative Candidate Survey. This survey had two goals:
- First, to provide Medical Alley Association members with state legislative candidate views on issues that are important to the Medical Alley community and the work of the Medical Alley Association.
- Second, to communicate to candidates – and thus, future legislators – what the key issues are for Medical Alley members and begin the process of educating them on what can be done at the state level to grow and strengthen the health technology and care industry.
Nearly fifty candidates for state legislative office responded to this survey. No endorsements, contributions, or other incentive were available for responding. Candidates were made aware that their responses would be made available to Medical Alley Association members. The directory on the following page links to candidate responses for that race; a link to return to the directory is found at the end of each set of answers.
Where only one candidate (Republican or Democrat) in the race responded, we also included the name of the other candidate for fairness. If there was no Republican or Democrat, we included the name of any third-party candidate in the race.
Candidates were either asked to rate their agreement with the statement on a scale of 1 – 5 (with 1 being strongly disagree and 5 being strongly agree); or asked whether or not they supported the question posed (Yes or No). Each candidate was also asked three open-ended questions to provide more information and context about their views on healthcare policy and their priorities overall.
