GeneMatters was founded to ensure that everyone has access to expert genetic counseling when they need it. Our mission is to increase access to genetic counseling services and provide the most cost-effective, efficient and comprehensive genetic counseling experience. With the exponential growth in the genetic testing market, more patients are in need of genetic counseling. There is a current shortage of genetic counselors to match this growth, and our telehealth platform and model answers this need.
We partner with hospitals, clinics, academic centers and genetic labs that need to expand access to genetic counseling services. We combine genetic counseling with our telehealth platform to seamlessly integrate with our partners. Our board-certified and licensed genetic counselors help people understand their genetic family history, decide if genetic testing is right for them, choose the right test, and understand their results to make informed decisions.
As Product Manager, you are a strategist who will translate the company’s high-level vision and goals into actionable tasks. You will set the product strategy, prioritize new features and build consensus among the team. You will work with a development counterpart to define product release schedule and requirements and work with marketing to help define the go-to-market strategy by providing key market and product insights. In addition, you will help develop new ideas, based on your contact with our clinical team, customers and prospects and will occasionally work to support the sales channel and key customers. In short, you must be prepared to communicate with all areas of the company.
You should be adept at managing relationships, collaborating and influencing across a variety of organizational functions. You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity and complexity. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must also enjoy spending time in the market to understand market problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market
Guide a software development team that is responsible for building new products and increasing profitability of existing products
Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership to choose the best ones to pursue
Develop a three-year roadmap for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future
Create user stories, wireframes, and other foundational technical specifications for current and future products based on market problems
Demonstrate foundational understanding of our systems and architecture to inform the direction of product development.
Understand and clearly communicate your products technical details with stakeholders and leadership.
Develop and maintain business cases for investment into your products
Drive buy-build-partner analysis, and where necessary, review potential partner relationships for product fit
Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as marketing and clinical teams, on the creation of positioning for your products
Manage the entire product life cycle from legacy products to prototyping and testing new features/products
Know why we are winning in the market and where there are opportunities, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement
5 years of software development and/or product management experience, ideally in the healthcare space
Tech savvy, entrepreneurial and passionate about building user-friendly digital products and services.
Demonstrated record of product ownership and delivering successful digital products and services into the market.
Proven analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
Experience with best practice agile scrum development, lean startup principles, and human-centered design.
Experience with cloud-based product development
Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Jira and Salesforce
Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and partners
Subject matter expert/industry experience a strong plus
