Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager, Commercial Entities is responsible for retaining and increasing sales revenues through the sale of Commercial Entities’ products and services to existing key client accounts in the cell and gene therapy marketplace. This role will develop customer nurturing plans and will execute those plans over the customer lifecycle to deeply engage key accounts in long-term sales of Commercial Entities’ products and services. This person will become intimately familiar with client development plans and staff to ensure that current revenue plans are not disrupted and to ensure that future revenue opportunities are identified and pursued.

This role requires a high level of collaboration with other functional groups within the larger non-profit organization, including allogeneic donor and transplant provider teams, product managers/owners, marketing, human resources, and finance.

The candidate must have experience in and/or a passion for the cell and gene therapy marketplace. This is a new position.

Knowledge of:
• Must have the ability to build strong relationships with customers as well as all internal and field associates
• Requires the ability to stay competitive in a fast-changing market and ensure customer satisfaction by defining key account needs in relation to our product and service offerings
• Requires the ability to assess key account product needs and apply the necessary skills to meet or exceed expectations
• Ability to utilize independent judgment in selecting methods and tactics to increase sales, retain accounts and maintain existing clients at post-sales satisfaction levels
• Possesses superior presentation and negotiation skills, as well as an understanding of project management
• Proven ability to influence and manage teams without direct supervisory or management authority

• Comfortable selling at the C-Suite level
• Act in a highly responsive, pro-active and accurate way in order to support key accounts

Education and/or Experience:
• BA or BS degree required
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a B2B customer-facing environment
• Experience working within the Life Sciences (Biopharma preferred, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical) industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Salesforce CRM

Preferred Qualifications: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)
• BA or BS degree in the life sciences preferred
• Existing business contacts in the cell and gene therapy field
