MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Fairview Health Services announced the appointment of Tanja Oquendo, J.D., as its new chief people officer (CPO), effective Aug. 12. Oquendo brings extensive experience in human resources and success in shaping employee engagement and workplace culture.
As CPO, Oquendo will help drive Fairview forward by leading efforts that promote culture, diversity, equity, inclusion, and organizational growth.

strength in leadership and strategic vision will play a pivotal role to strengthen, innovate, and advance our organization.”
Prior to joining Fairview, Oquendo was chief administrative officer, chief human resources officer, and system senior vice president of transformation and integration at CommonSpirit Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems. Throughout her career, Oquendo has driven organizational improvements to support HR and beyond. She champions people-first strategies that help organizations exceed goals related to quality, safety, customer service, and engagement.
