EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., June 21, 2022 – — MIVI Neuroscience, Inc., innovator of the next generation of neurointerventional medical devices, today announced that it has added two new leaders to its growing team: Dan Hughes as vice president of commercial field development and Heather Cronin as vice president of clinical affairs.

Dan Hughes brings to MIVI more than 30 years of medical device sales experience.  Previously, he held executive positions at NovaSignal, RapidAI, and Medtronic Neurovascular. As vice president of sales at RapidAI, he led the company on a commercial expansion in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, dramatically expanding its product offerings. At Medtronic Neurovascular, where he spent almost 10 years, Dan was part of the leadership team that expanded the division’s annual global revenue from approximately $35 million in 2010 to just under $1 billion in 2019 and helped to grow the customer-facing organization from 20 field-based employees to more than 200.

Heather Cronin joins MIVI from Medtronic, where she was senior director of clinical research, leading the strategy and execution of clinical trials across peripheral vascular therapies. During her two decades at Medtronic, she also held a variety of roles across its vascular portfolio in clinical, operations, quality, and sales. She has experience building and growing clinical field organizations, leading value-based health care initiatives for CABG patients, mapping supply chains, and overseeing global field corrective actions. She has an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The two new leaders will report to Bob Colloton, CEO of MIVI Neuroscience: “We’re adding best-in-class professionals who believe in our mission to bring a new generation of neurointerventional medical devices to market, and have the expertise to help us accomplish that goal.” The announcement of the two latest leadership additions comes on the heels of MIVI naming Dr. Waleed Brinjikji, an internationally respected and experienced interventional neuroradiologist, as its medical director.
