Medical Alley Association Releases Statement on President Biden’s Recent Executive Order

March 1

Medical Alley – Medical Alley Association Interim President and CEO Steffen Hovard released the following statement today regarding President Biden’s Executive Order on Securing America’s Critical Supply Chains:

“The Medical Alley Association applauds today’s Executive Order aimed at creating and securing a resilient supply chain. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the necessity of investing in America’s supply chain to protect access to critical and essential goods. Taking action to ensure we have the ability and capacity to respond to threats, especially in healthcare, is crucial and we are grateful for President Biden’s leadership.

Medical Alley is home to the most robust healthcare ecosystem in the world. Several of the world’s leading healthcare technology and care delivery organizations call Medical Alley home, as do many biotechnology, digital health, medical technology, and care delivery innovators. Today, this community is working together to lead the transformation of healthcare, including through redefining our medical supply chain.

We are assembling a collection of supply chain leaders from across Medical Alley focused on delivering a framework for future healthcare supply chain movements. The topics and challenges this group will examine include those highlighted by today’s Executive Order: fostering and sustaining an inclusive supply chain, returning manufacturing to the United States, and building a more resilient and diverse supply chain.

The Medical Alley Association will be offering this group of supply chain leaders to work with, and serve as a resource for, the Biden Administration as it embarks on this effort. Securing a sustainable, innovative, inclusive, and resilient supply chain in healthcare is critical and there is nowhere else in the world where the insight and expertise of leaders from across all sectors of healthcare can be tapped in one place.

We look forward to working with President Biden and his administration on this important issue in the coming days, weeks, and months.”
