(MINNEAPOLIS, MN May 7, 2019) – Nanocore Corporation announced Tuesday that Tammy Lee has joined as chief executive officer. The Company’s Red Wing-based manufacturing plant currently produces and sells wearable cooling therapeutic products under its NanohealthTM (http://nanohealthusa.com/) and NanopauseTM (http://nanopauseusa.com/) brands.
Lee most recently served as President and CEO of Recombinetics, a platform technology company that gene-edits animals for health and welfare traits and human therapeutic applications, where she successfully completed a $34 million Series A capital raise.
Prior to that, Lee held executive roles in large, complex, multinational businesses including Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Carlson companies and Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Delta Air Lines.
Faiz Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of Nanocore said, “We are pleased to have Tammy Lee join as CEO. She has a proven track record of successfully raising capital to scale operations for breakthrough technologies and expand products into new markets. Under her leadership, Nanocore is poised for rapid growth to meet current demand and expand product sales internationally.”
Tammy Lee, CEO of Nanocore, added, “I’m thrilled to be working with a best-in-class manufacturing team in Red Wing, backed by renowned physicians and medical experts, to bring to market breakthrough therapeutic products that alleviate human suffering.”
Nanocore’s cooling therapeutic products use patent-pending smart phase change materials to comfortably cool the targeted area. The products pull heat away from the injured area; reduce inflammation, swelling and pain; and accelerate the body’s natural healing process. The formulated material maintains an optimal therapeutic temperature, without risk of ice burn or frostbite. The reusable products recharge in a refrigerator in less than 30 minutes.
NanohealthTM products are recommended by doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists for ankle, knee, foot, elbow, wrist, back and shoulder injuries, surgeries, and sciatica pain. The Company is supplying products to renowned clinics and healthcare systems across the U.S.
The NanopauseTM Cool Bolero is used by women suffering from menopause. Institutional Review Board (IRB) study results were released on May 4th in Nashville at Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), which kicked off the North American product launch. Many women have reported a significant reduction in the frequency of menopausal symptoms as quickly as a few days, while others experience relief within four weeks.
Lee added, “For women everywhere experiencing menopause, this product can significantly improve their health and overall quality of life, bringing more joyful living to them and their families.”
Nanocore’s products are FDA 510(k) registered as Class 1 medical devices and manufactured in the U.S.
Lee was recently named on the Twin Cities Business Magazine’s 2018 Top 100 People to Know. She is a member of the Women Presidents Organization, Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable and Women’s Forum of Minnesota.
Lee has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. and serves on the Board of Regents for her alma mater, Concordia College, where she received Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and communications.
Proper use of the NanopauseTM CoolBolero, one hour in the morning and one hour at night, has been shown to significantly reduce menopause symptoms including hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and more. During menopause, Estradiol (E2), the estrogen steroid hormone, activates Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) around the neck and shoulders in a process called thermogenesis – which generates heat and causes hot flashes. The NanopauseTM CoolBolero decelerates BAT activities and thus dramatically reduces the occurrence and severity of hot flashes even when the product is not being worn.
On Tuesday, August 6th Nanocore CEO, Tammy Lee, will be joining Medical Alley Association as the featured speaker at our Women in Health Leadership Series. Reserve your ticket now for your chance to meet other dedicated, influential women in health technology!
