vidscrip Expands Partnership to Advance Asthma and Allergy Patient Education

August 22

Minneapolis, MN (August 22, 2017) – vidscrip announced today the expansion of their relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific, bringing advanced asthma and allergy patient education to health systems nationwide. This partnership is the latest example of diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies working with digital health companies like vidscrip to bring innovative solutions to their customers as the healthcare industry transitions to value-based care.

“Innovation is a core value in our company. This partnership is an example of how we leverage our expertise in asthma education to deliver unsurpassed value to our customers, and be relevant and present to patients,” said Paul Maloney, responsible for health economic strategy at Thermo Fisher.

Healthcare providers use the vidscrip app to record their own answers to common patient questions using video, audio and images (“a vidscrip”). Viscrips are then delivered to patients via text messages, emails, and through patient portals at key moments within an episode of care.

During the pilot phase of this program, asthma specialists like Amber McGuire, APRN, saw meaningful improvement in patients’ compliance with care instructions. “I am dedicated to improving healthcare quality and taking an active role in my patients’ care,” she said. “vidscrip has proven to be a powerful resource to improve adherence to treatment guidelines.”

“We continue to see strong demand for solutions that improve drug, medical device and diagnostic companies’ value propositions,” said John Brownlee, CEO of vidscrip. “We look forward to building on the success we’ve seen in our year-long pilot with Thermo Fisher Scientific by impacting more providers and patients nationwide.”
