History

LifeScience Alley is the result of a 2005 merger between Medical Alley and MNBIO, our state chapter of the national Biotechnology Industry Organization. Medical Alley was founded in 1984 as a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association to support Minnesota's health care industry, with a focus on legislative issues, education, and investment in Minnesota as a major center of health care achievement, research, and innovation. MNBIO was founded in 1991 as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association to serve as the eyes, ears and voice of biotechnology in Minnesota. By merging the two organizations, LifeScience Alley drew on the strengths of both to become a powerful trade association with breadth, diversity, resources, and influence.

On March 30, 2006, LifeScience Alley unveiled its new name and mission: Enabling business success in the life sciences. For more information, please visit our home page.
